Facial FAQS
Should I expect to experience break out after my facial service?
It’s possible to experience a breakout after a facial, especially if it was a deep cleansing or extraction-focused treatment. Facials can sometimes push impurities to the surface, which might lead to temporary breakouts.
However, many people don’t experience this and instead see clearer skin afterward. To minimize the risk of breakouts, make sure you follow their aftercare advice, and keep your skin clean and hydrated.
What product line do you use in your facial services?
GlyMed Plus is a professional skincare line known for its clinical-grade products and focus on advanced skincare solutions. The brand is popular among estheticians and dermatologists for its high-quality formulations that target a range of skin concerns, including aging, acne, hyperpigmentation, and sensitivity.
GlyMed Plus products often feature potent ingredients such as antioxidants, peptides, and acids, and are designed to deliver visible results through both professional treatments and at-home care. Their product lines typically include cleansers, exfoliants, serums, moisturizers, and sunscreens.
The brand emphasizes the importance of using scientifically-backed ingredients and technologies to address various skin issues effectively.
What should I experience after my facial?
You will leave your service feeling hydrated and relaxed and your skin will look healthy and glowing. If your appointment is later in the day we typically prepare your skin for night and no cleansing is necessary before bed.
If your service is completed early in the day protection products will be applied and cleansing before bed will be recommended.
Should I have a facial before an important event?
Absolutely! Your skin will look healthy and glowing directly after your service.
Can I wear makeup to my appointment?
Sure! However, it will be removed with the facial.
Should I avoid cosmetics after my facial?
No. If you have an event or just feel more comfortable wearing foundation feel free to apply as normal. Just make sure to remove it at the end of the day!
Should I have a facial if I have sensitive skin?
Yes. There are many factors involved in sensitive skin and sometimes a facial service can help determine through consultation what you can do at home to both offer relief for you current state as well as prevent your condition from worsening.
Can I receive a facial waxing on the same day as my facial?
Yes! Waxing is always done first, prior to your facial, for the upmost comfort and safety of your skin. Any areas waxed will be carefully avoided during your facial exfoliation so as not to further irritate the skin.
Can I wax the same day as my chemical peel?
No! Waxing and chemical peels both involve processes that can significantly affect the skin, so combining them on the same day is generally not recommended. Here’s why:
Potential for Over-Exfoliation: Chemical peels are designed to exfoliate the skin, and waxing also has an exfoliating effect. Combining these can lead to over-exfoliation, which can compromise your skin barrier and cause additional issues.
Increased Sensitivity: Both waxing and chemical peels can leave your skin sensitive and vulnerable. Waxing removes the top layer of skin along with hair, while a chemical peel exfoliates or removes layers of skin to reveal fresh skin underneath. Doing both in the same session can lead to excessive irritation or damage.
Risk of Adverse Reactions: Both treatments can cause redness, inflammation, and irritation. Using them together increases the risk of adverse reactions like severe redness, peeling, or even infection.
Healing Time: Your skin needs time to recover after each treatment. Doing both on the same day doesn’t allow adequate time for your skin to heal and could potentially worsen any reactions or prolong recovery.
For best results and to minimize risks, it’s a good idea to space out these treatments. Generally, it’s recommended to wait at least a week or more after a chemical peel before waxing. If you wax first then it’s recommended to wait a few days before getting a peel.
